Notorious crate-digger, party-DJ and virtuoso turntablist Mr Thing holds several accolades for his scratching, winning various international competitions with beat-juggling outfit the Scratch Perverts and the title of UK champion in the DMC Scratch Championship in 2000.
His solo career has led to a residency at Fabric and collaborations with DJ Premier. Together they released the third instalment of The Kings of Hip Hop compilation series for Barely Breaking Even. He worked with London MC Yungun to release the well received “Grown Man Business” in 2006.
His releases with BBE include “Strange Breaks” a two volume series of rare and sought-after breaks and The Beat Generation 10th Anniversary Collection – a thought provoking, head bobbing tribute to the legacies of producers J Dilla, Jazzy Jeff, Marley Marl, Madlib, Pete Rock and more – compiled and mixed alongside DJ Spinna.
