Introduction

“Soundwave Croatia is the stuff of which holidays used to be made, amazing memories that will remain forever framed in that cavernous, green arena by the sea…”  -  The Independent

“Perhaps the summer’s most beautiful site…” – Time Out

“All the quirks of a Bestival but in a far more beautiful, and sunny setting…” – The Guardian

If you want an introduction to the festival just sit back and watch either our short teaser or our 5 minute film just below –

In previous years we’ve been lucky enough to have artists such as Little Dragon, The Cinematic Orchestra, Roots Manuva, Bonobo, Gentlemans Dub Club and a whole heap of others create what was for many not only the perfect festival but also their holiday of a life time.

We had 3 wonderful years in the fishing village of Petrcane but for 2012 our new festival site is located at The Garden, Tisno. This incredibly beautiful site is located just a short walk around the bay from the small Dalmatian town of Tisno.

Tisno part straddles the Croatian mainland and the Island of Murter, linked by a 20m bridge. Tisno is located 45km south of Zadar airport and 65km north of Split airport so is ideally situated for those of you flying in. The charming town is picture perfect with a host of restaurants, cafes, apartments and small boutique hotels.

Within the festival site itself and built up on the hills overlooking the bay is a small onsite apartment village and luxury boutique camping for those who want to be as close to the action as possible whilst a short walk around the bay there is an abundance of beds in the stunning setting of Tisno.

We promise that this year will be even better than the last. This year promises even more great music in the glorious sunshine next to a clear blue sea as we’re now running over 5 days instead of three, for those of you who wish to extend your sunshine soaked good times that little bit longer.

This Year we have the legendary kings of flower power hiphop De La Soul, the superbly souful Fink, the deeply cinematic Hidden Orchestra, rising UK hiphop star Ghostpoet, the sublime Submotion Orchestra as well as over 50 other amazing acts providing you with all the sunshine music you will ever need to soundtrack the holiday of a lifetime.

The new festival site is on a beautiful strip of coastline where the Dalmatian Coast meets the Adriatic Sea. The main stage arena is a little bigger in capacity than previously and is now set in a tree lined area of parkland in the centre of the site just moments from the seafront.

The Beach Stage for dancing in the glistening Adriatic listening to your favourite DJs play through a crystal clear Funktion 1 system.

Barbarellas Discotheque is perhaps the biggest change. We have found a place where everyone can dance under the stars. We didn’t enjoy having to turn people away from the night club in previous years because of limited capacity but the new and improved Barbarellas has room for everyone to dance in the warm moonlit night to their favourite dj’s until the early hours.

“What about the boat parties?” We hear you say. The Garden Tisno has its very own dock so those embarking on the twice daily boat parties can walk from Main Stage to boat in seconds and with the Kornati islands only a short distance away expect stunning scenery and sunsets on your voyages.

You can come and stay for a week or just a long weekend, although there is now 5 days of music programmed the bulk of it happens across the weekend so if you can’t get away from the office for longer than that you won’t be missing out on too much fun.

The surrounding area is equally beautiful and there is loads to do such as island hopping, exploring the national parks and nearby mountains, enjoying the culinary delights of the local farming and fishing villages, relaxing on any of the various beaches or maybe you’ll just wave the flag for brits abroad and get sun-burnt, obnoxiously drunk and locked up (Joke – please dont wave that flag).
