Poet, actor, television presenter, stand up comedian and BBC radio host Craig Charles has been performing since the age of 12 when he won The Guardian Poetry Award. He began appearing in television programmes after starting his career as an urban performance poet, presenting on children’s television shows such as What’s that Noise.
He acquired cult status as Dave Lister on BBC 2′s hugely popular Red Dwarf and has appeared in a myriad of other shows as an actor or presenter, including EastEnders and Robot Wars. Most recently, he has appeared on Coronation Street.
He presents the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show for BBC 6 Music, where he explores the past, present and future of the genres. His DJ sets are infectious!
