Andy H & Gilla are the label managers of UK based label First Word, home to some of the finest Hip Hop, Funk, Soul & Beats in Europe. With acts including The Haggis Horns, kidkanevil, Homecut, Souleance and 6ix Toys the label is going from strength to strength. Last September saw the release of their first mix album, with a retrospective of the label to celebrate First Word’s 5th Birthday. Andy H is a DMC finalist party-rocking DJ who is a resident at The Tuesday Club and New Bohemia, as well as becoming an increasingly in demand beatmaker. His seismic ‘Kick Kick’ and recent remix for Tru-Thoughts’ Kinny a signal of what’s to come from Sheffield’s finest. Gilla is resident at New Bo as well as legendary Leeds club The Hifi. He also holds down a regular spot at London’s Marketplace with kidkanevil (Geek Down).
